The purpose of the volleyball program is to introduce and refine basic and intermediate skills used in competitive volleyball. Students who participate will learn basic fundamentals, spirit of competition, teamwork, self-confidence and school pride. Volleyball is not intended to interfere with school academics at anytime. It is the responsibility of the participant to balance athletics and academics, but please remember that academics come first.

During the season we focus on fundamentals of the game like rules, dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. We encourage good sportsmanship, hard work and everyone gets equal playing time. All players participate in an intramural season with games 3 days a week. There is one sport that rewards endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and above all, a drive to succeed. That sport is wrestling. Wrestlers at Longs Peak learn the fundamentals of takedowns, grappling, escaping, and pinning as they strengthen their mind and body in an encouraging atmosphere. We ask that our athletes work hard and bring a positive attitude to practices. All grade levels and genders may join wrestling. 6th graders get to travel to away meets and have their own district tournament separate from the 7th and 8th graders. Come join us!

Boys and Girls have the opportunity to participate in a six week season that includes practice five days a week, 4 track meets and a big district track meet with all St. Vrain Valley middle schools. We focus on the fundamentals of sprinting and long distance running. Students get to try, practice and compete in running events, hurdles, relay races, long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus and shot put. One of the main goals of track is to help students with all skill levels and athletic abilities to grow as an athlete through hard work and perseverance.
