5th Grade Technology
This is a trimester long course that every fifth grader takes. It introduces them to digital citizenship, keyboarding and basic computer functions. It is a project based class where students learn more about using iPads in a learning environment. Students use Schoology for discussion threads, and turning in assignments.
6th Grade Technology
Intro to Technology is a quarter-long, project-based course that introduces students to a variety of programs that are available to them using their iPad. Participants complete projects that introduce them to functions in Clips, Stop Motion Studio, Garage Band, Notability, Pic Collage Edu, Sketches Pro, and Keynote. Students also work on learning digital creativity projects using photography and photo editing. Being introduced to these technology programs and projects in an exploratory, elective atmosphere provides students with many digital skills that make for a more seamless core content experience. In this discovery learning atmosphere, students collaborate and work to be able lead their peers in learning.
