National Junior Honor Society at LPMS

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.

Longs Peak received their National Junior Honor Society charter in 2012. The outstanding students involved in this organization focus on service to the community and act as student leaders. The group has organized and participated in a number of worthy pursuits, including mentoring LPMS 5th graders, and working with children at the annual Longmont Lights Santa Workshop, and running games at the LPMS Fall Festival.
